Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs
Ingredients
- Spare ribs 500g, cut into pieces
- Vinegar 2 tablespoons
- Ketchup 3 tablespoons
- Sugar 3 tablespoons
- Soy sauce 1 tablespoon
- Salt to taste
- Cornstarch 1 tablespoon, dissolved in water
- Cooking oil as needed
Steps
- Boil a pot of water and blanch the spare ribs for a few minutes to remove any impurities. Drain and set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix together vinegar, ketchup, sugar, soy sauce, and salt to make the sweet and sour sauce.
- Heat some cooking oil in a wok and stir-fry the spare ribs until they turn golden brown.
- Pour in the sweet and sour sauce and stir-fry until the spare ribs are evenly coated.
- Add some water, cover the wok, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes until the spare ribs are tender.
- Remove the cover, stir in the dissolved cornstarch to thicken the sauce, and continue cooking for a few more minutes.
- Turn off the heat, transfer the sweet and sour spare ribs to a serving dish, and serve hot.
