Steps
Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan and sauté until the onion becomes translucent.
Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula.
Stir in the tomato paste, canned diced tomatoes, red wine, dried oregano, dried basil, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
Serve the meat sauce over cooked spaghetti.
Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.
