Steamed Fish
Ingredients
- tilapia 1 whole, about 500g
- Ginger 1 thumb-sized piece, sliced
- Scallions 2 stalks, sliced
- Cooking Oil as needed
- Salt as needed
- Soy Sauce as needed
- Shaoxing Wine 1 tablespoon
- Cilantro as needed
Steps
- Clean the fish thoroughly, removing any scales and internal organs.
- Make a few diagonal cuts on both sides of the fish.
- Rub the fish with salt and let it sit for a few minutes.
- Place the fish on a heatproof plate or steaming dish.
- Spread the ginger slices and half of the scallions on top of the fish.
- Drizzle some cooking oil, soy sauce, and Shaoxing wine over the fish.
- Prepare a steamer and bring the water to a boil.
- Carefully place the plate with the fish into the steamer.
- Cover the steamer and steam the fish over high heat for about 8-10 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
- Once cooked, carefully remove the plate from the steamer.
- Garnish with the remaining scallions and cilantro.
- Serve hot and enjoy.
